Dr Lim Hong Huay is a doctor, a mother and a volunteer. She is devoted to improving quality of life for children with special needs, youths with mental health conditions, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers.
She adopts a person- and family-centred approach, integrating developmental-behavioural paediatrics, early intervention, special education, mental health care, disability medicine and social support to provide holistic care for patients and their families.
Dr Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1996 and became a registered specialist paediatrician in 2003. She sub-specialised in Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and founded CaringSG, a charity which supports caregivers of children with special needs and persons with disabilities.

Expertise
Dr Lim is Singapore’s first registered user of the Griffiths Scales of Child Development (Griffiths III) and is certified in gold-standard autism diagnostic assessments, including ADOS-2 and ADI-R.
Her expertise in managing emotional, behavioural and mental health conditions in children and individuals with disabilities is further strengthened by a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health from the National University of Singapore.
She has also completed postgraduate training in epidemiology and has led multiple programmes supporting child development, autism services and caregiver support.
